Feng Shui

Feng Shui is an ancient art and science developed over 3,000 years ago in China. It is a complex body of knowledge that reveals how to balance the energies of any given space to assure the health and good fortune for people inhabiting it. Broadly, Feng Shui is about creating a space whether a home, an office, a retail space, or an entire city, that supports and uplifts the people who live there and moves them closer to their life's goals. Literally translated, Feng Shui means "wind" and "water"; it is about the energy that surrounds us all.  We use color, furniture placement, symbolism and design to create one of a kind, a unique, beautiful space that truly brings out the best in the individuals who use the space.

Feng Shui is based on the Taoist vision and understanding of nature, particularly on the idea that the land is alive and filled with Chi, or energy. The theories of Yin and Yang, as well as the five feng shui elements, are some of the basic aspects of a feng shui analysis that come from Taoism.  While considering Feng Shui as a way of living life, it is important to understand one of the basic principles of feng shui which is the principle of five elements. The five elements are Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. These feng shui elements interact between themselves in certain ways to either bring productive or destructive energies which determine the quality of our life.

Each Feng Shui element is represented by a specific color, and color is the easiest way to use the five elements principle to bring more harmony into your home. Color is very powerful, as it is an expression of light, and these days, many homes and offices are starved for light.

Wood is represented by the colours Green and Brown; Fire with Red, strong Yellow, Orange, Purple and Pink. Earth is represented by light Yellow, Sandy/Earthy, and light Brown. Metal is coherent with White and Gray; Water with Blue and Black. Knowing how to use color to strengthen and balance the energy of your home is a complex feng shui subject, which our Feng shui expert helps you with. The right placement of feng shui colors is defined by the Bagua, or the feng shui energy map of your space.

Even before you seek an expert on Feng Shui, here are some of the very basic tips which will help you alleviate the quality of your home and your life.

  • Pay close attention to the entrance of the space. The entrance should not be blocked, which prevents energy or chi from entering the area.
  • Clear Out Your Clutter; get rid of everything you do not love in your house.
  • Surround yourself with an abundance of light, fresh air and greenery.
  • Choose colors that help you unwind. Incorporate blues, lavenders, greens, peaches and other soothing earth tones into your home.

Feeling stuck in life with no or little guidance and energy to improve the situation? A Feng Shui consultation may be the first step in getting "unstuck." Our Feng Shui consultant can recommend ways to shift the energy of a person and space, creating amazing transformations. Whatever your goals; money, relationships, more career success, better clientele, etc., Feng Shui can assist in your journey.
