Hatha Yoga

The word Hatha comes from two Sanskrit terms “ha” meaning sun and “tha” meaning moon. The practice of Hatha yoga aims to yoke together these two energies. However, “hatha” means “forceful”, implying that powerful work must be done to purify the body.
The primary aim is to improve body alignment, and posture, purify the channels (nadis) and make one a powerful and pleasing personality. It enhances feelings of happiness and well-being and ensures complete harmony of mind, body, and spirit.
At Panchtattva Studio, we begin with breathing techniques to calm the mind and the senses and invoke healing vibrations of the consciousness. This is followed by asanas for the spine, legs, hands, shoulders, arms, and all major and minor limbs and joints which often accumulate stress. Asanas are sometimes customized and complemented by personalized affirmations. A session is complete with a guided deep relaxation technique called YogNidra.
